Hammers, defendant below, was charged in the District Court of Muskogee County, Oklahoma, by indictment of a grand jury, with the crime of conspiracy to bribe a public officer. He was tried by a jury, convicted, and his punishment fixed at a fine of $500. Judgment and sentence were entered accordingly, from which this appeal has been perfected.
